Luke‬ ‭19‬:‭10 ”For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Jesus is the true Seeker. I’m in favor of Seeker sensitive churches. But what people typically mean by seeker sensitive churches is gearing their services to unbelievers.

The Scripture in Romans 3:10-12 says There’s none who does good. There’s none who seek for God. How do we understand that truth in light of Hebrews 11:6 “He who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”?

Unregenerate man does not seek God naturally. But when God draws a man by his grace, through His Spirit’s work in his life, then the unbeliever as a response will seek God because God sought him first.

So yes, there are unbelievers who seek God, but only because God sought him first. Regardless, I think our churches should be more Seeker friendly than seeker friendly. This is because the church gathering is primarily intended for the edification of the saints, not the evangelization of the lost.

The church (the people) are called to follow Jesus by going out into the world to seek and to save that which is lost. What a glorious mission we’ve been given!
